My first short film, made in summer of 2019
Loosely inspired by the Italian Opera "Pagliacci" by Ruggero Leoncavallo, "I Am Pagliacci" takes the sad clown trope and brings it to a smaller scale, in a closer to home portrayal. The title is taken from the iconic punchline of a so called 'joke' told by the character Rorschach from Alan Moore's DC graphic novel, "Watchmen".
This was a passion project that I wrote the script of in December of 2018, shelving it to film at the right time, with the right amount of care. Produced during the summer of 2019, it was released on 24th August 2019. Two posters were designed by me for its marketing, one of which was publicly released on Instagram to announce the film, while the other remained unreleased.
